With a surge of people newly interested in running for office, Emerge South Carolina has recently hired Allison Terracio as Executive Director. Emerge America is the nation’s premier organization that recruits and trains Democratic women and non-binary folks to run for office.
Emerge South Carolina is the leading candidate training organization for Democratic women and non-binary people in South Carolina and recruits, trains and inspires candidates to pursue public office at the local, state and national levels through its multi-month campaign training program as well as intensive weekend boot camp programs.
Emerge South Carolina announces the hiring of Richland County Council Member Allison Terracio as its executive director. Terracio will lead the organization and oversee its overall strategy and direction. In addition, she will focus on recruitment to the program and implementing the training program.

Terracio has been serving on Richland County Council since 2019. She currently serves as Chair of the Affordable Housing Ad Hoc Committee as well as the COMET Board of Directors. Prior to joining Emerge South Carolina she was the Advocacy Campaigns Manager for South Carolina with Planned Parenthood South Atlantic. She lives in Columbia, SC, with her husband and son.
