Why did you choose Emerge?
Emerge South Carolina made the most sense to me when I decided which training program to do. An established national organization offered stability and quality while allowing me to create a network of other women running for office in South Carolina.
What office are you running for and why?
I am running for the South Carolina State House because our General Assembly has the power to undue or mitigate harmful policies being established at the federal level of government.
What is your vision for your community?
My vision for our community is a place where people spend more time living their best life instead of navigating obstacles created by poor decisions made by our current government.
What/who inspired you to run for office?
Our children inspire me to run for office and serve with their best interests in mind.
Which Democratic woman inspires you and why?
Nancy Pelosi reminds me how powerful women can be when we embrace our inner confidence. We are at our best when we advocate for what we know to be the best course of action.
What’s the one thing you gained from Emerge and would like to share with others?
I gained a sense of confidence that comes from having the information to create and execute a solid campaign plan. I had the passion, and Emerge gave me the tools to win.
