Why did you choose Emerge?
I chose Emerge because it offered support to me as a Democratic woman candidate. This is my first time running for office and I knew that I would be a better candidate with the training offered by Emerge.

What is your vision for your community?
With my leadership, community members will be informed of the resources available to them so that everyone will not only survive but thrive. As a community we will all be healthier, wealthier and wiser. We will all rise together by engaging a wide range of perspectives and insights to achieve more.
What/Who inspires you to run for office?
I have been blessed with a one-year old daughter, Nova Grace, who like everyone in Colleton County deserves a great future with endless opportunities. Nova Grace inspired me to run for office and when elected, everyone will reap the benefits of my drive to succeed in building a better Colleton that will provide resources to all, support a better education system and foster economic development and healthcare options.
Which Democratic woman inspires you and why?
The Democratic woman who most inspires me is my 97-year old grandmother, Jessierine Davis Bright, who by example taught me to live life with passion and purpose while in pursuit of helping others. It’s from her that I learned the importance of exercising my right to vote as she has been voting since given the right to do so.
What’s the one thing you gained from Emerge and would like to share with others?
Emerge provided me the foundation, training, and network to confidently run for office and know that regardless of the outcome of the race, I will make a difference in my community and the Democratic party.
